How do I root Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V?
#1

I just got for myself this new phone with so many useless bloatware. I just want to root this phone and freeze or uninstall them as they are slowing my device down (even without opening any app, all I have out of my 350mb + RAM is an average of 50mb). Can someone please help me out with a noob step by step guide?

Thanks in advance

This step by step video shows you how to root a Sony ericsson xperia neo by downgrading it to a 2.3.2 firmware, rooting it with gingerbreak and do an OTA update (and only an OTA update !) to have a rooted phone with the latest firmware !

You can also root xperia play and arc devices with the same method, just by selecting the corresponding firmware and device in WotanClient.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo recently got updated to Android 4.0, it broke root access for many users. This guide will show you how to fix that.

Download Rooting Package For Xperia Neo V.

Rooting the Xperia Neo V
1. Enable USB Debugging on your device. You can do this by heading to Settings > Applications > USB Debugging and checking the tickbox next to it.

2. Enable installation of non-Market applications. To do this, go to Settings > Applications and check the Unknown Sources tickbox.

3. Connect your device to your Windows PC.

4. Extract the DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su.zip that you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.

5. From the extracted folder, double-click on runme.bat to run the DooMLoRD tool.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the process to be complete (your device will reboot several times during the procedure).
