Motorola Photon Q USB connectivity problem

Motorola Photon Q USB connectivity problem - 02-11-2013, 12:41 PM,

My Photon has been connecting and backing up just fine until recently. Now the "USB connection" notice appears briefly on the top of the screen, then disappears; the Motorola Media Link does not appear, and if manually started seems to have no knowledge of the phone (the phone charges just fine). I have tried several new cables with no change. The representative at Best Buy muttered about a software update that caused some connectivity problems. Does anyone know anything about this? I have been assuming the micro-USB socket is worn, but perhaps not.

Hi android,
Would you please try using your device in Safe Mode to see if the USB modes all show up?

Safe Mode means that 3rd party apps do not load. If your issue goes away in safe mode, that usually means that one of the apps that you have downloaded is causing the issue.

Safe mode for the Photon Q:

1>Power the phone down.
2>Push the power button to turn the phone on.
3>When you see the "flashing M" screen then press the volume up/down key down until the phone boots.
4>You should see "Safe mode" at the bottom left corner of the home screen.
6>Reboot the phone to get it out of Safe mode.
