Don't intend this as a troll: just concerned: I've seen a few references to a new google tv client being beta tested, but going back nearly 6 months now. On the other hand, there's been lots of activity on the new web client, but no formal announcements of updates to the GTV app. Is the GTV still considered a viable platform, or is it likely to wither on the vine? It's clear that its UI needs a fair amount of work in particular; however the GTV's hardware support for audio/video formats is excellent, so I'm loath to abandon it if it's still on the main line of development... but if it's a stale branch then it would be nice to know, so I can decide what to do instead (repurpose my old mac mini? buy a roku?). Many thanks for all the work to date: hopefully the answer (if any!) to this question will be a resounding "yes" -- ideally with some kind of timeline!

I think you have well justified concerns. development of the Plex GTV client has lagged behind other platforms which is a shame because the GTV has so much potential. Plex has also announced support of the OUYA which is another android based device.

The app is definitely still being developed on the GTV, it's just not the quickest process. hopefully we'll see a release soon. There's lots of bugs that need to be squashed.
